Hernández & Cía. announces the promotion of Lorena Tanji (Mining and Environment) and Edward Calmet (White-Collar Crime and Corporate Compliance) to partner. The appointments strengthen strategic areas of the firm and recognize the experience, leadership and contributions of both professionals.
Lorena Tanji has extensive experience advising mining companies on corporate, contractual, regulatory and environmental matters. Her practice also covers transactional matters, including company acquisitions, investment and joint operating agreements, joint ventures, and financing arrangements commonly used in the mining industry.
Her professional experience has been recognized by Chambers and Partners and other leading legal directories. In her new position, she joins the team of partners comprising Luis Rodríguez-Mariátegui, Luis Felipe Huertas del Pino and Juan Pablo Macassi, further consolidating a practice recognized for its experience advising domestic and international clients.
Edward Calmet has been promoted to partner in the firm’s White-Collar Crime and Corporate Compliance practices. His practice focuses on preventive advice and white-collar criminal litigation. He also advises domestic and international clients on corporate crises, internal and prosecutorial investigations, as well as criminal proceedings involving economic crimes, the criminal liability of legal entities and corporate compliance.
He is also recognized by leading international legal directories. In his new role, he will continue developing the firm’s White-Collar Crime and Corporate Compliance practices together with partner Gonzalo del Río.
