Hernández & Cía. announces the appointment of Sandro Fuentes Acurio as partner in its Tax and Corporate & Finance practices, expanding the firm’s capabilities to advise companies, financial institutions and investors on tax, corporate and financial matters.
Fuentes has more than four decades of professional experience. He developed his career at Rodrigo until the end of 2024 and has combined private practice with senior positions in the financial sector, public service and leading business organisations.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of BanBif and has held several senior positions related to the financial and business sectors. In public service, he was National Superintendent of Tax Administration (SUNAT), a director of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru and a director of CONASEV, now Peru’s Securities Market Superintendency, as well as Minister of Labour and Social Promotion.
His involvement in business organisations has included positions at ASBANC, CONFIEP and the Lima Chamber of Commerce, among other institutions. This experience has given him a broad perspective on regulation, the operation of businesses and the financial system, as well as on public-sector decision-making processes.

Fuentes holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, where he has also taught, as well as at the University of Lima and Universidad del Pacífico.
