Practice Areas:

At Hernández & Cía. we have extensive experience working with public and private entities, national and international, in the electricity, oil and gas sectors, whom we advise with a 360 ° vision. From the conception of the business or project to its development, contracting, financing, construction, and operation.

We advise all types of companies in their energy transition process, including the procedure for identifying their carbon footprint and its neutralization. We also recommend them in the development of projects that qualify to issue credits in the voluntary market, the clean development mechanism (transition), and the mechanism under article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement. The latter includes obtaining project authorization from the National Mitigation Registry (RENAMI) and negotiating contracts to purchase and sell carbon credits (emission reduction purchase agreement).

We work on the acquisition of greenfield or brownfield projects by conducting due diligence processes and negotiating and preparing contracts for the purchase and sale of shares and assets, option and assignment contracts, joint ventures, among others.

Likewise, our team has vast experience in tenders for concessions and electricity supply contracts (power purchase agreements) convened by the State, distribution companies, and consumers, as well as all types of construction contracts, EPC, BOOT, etc. In addition, we support our clients in obtaining all authorizations, licenses, and permits required for the construction and operation of energy projects before the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Ministry of Culture, regional governments, the Supervisory Agency for Investment in Mining and Energy (OSINERGMIN), the System Economic Operation Committee (COES), etc.

We have extensive experience in financing operations related to the energy sector, including corporate loans, project finance, project bonds, and other structures with equity or debt, investment funds, banks, or other investors.
