Hernández & Cía. announces that Nydia Guevara joined the firm as partner in its Banking and Finance, Capital Markets and FinTech practices. Her arrival strengthens these strategic areas and represents a significant step in the firm’s growth plan.
The appointment also marks a return to the firm: Nydia Guevara began her professional career at Hernández & Cía. and remained with the firm until 2006. Since then, she has built a distinguished career at leading local and international law firms. Before joining Hernández & Cía., she served as a partner at Rodrigo, Elías & Medrano. Previously, she was partner at Miranda & Amado and foreign associate at Shearman & Sterling, now A&O Shearman, in New York. She is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Columbia Law School.

With more than two decades of experience, Guevara advises financial institutions, issuers, investors, fintech companies and corporate clients on domestic and international financings, securities offerings, project finance, the structuring of financial instruments, and regulatory matters related to banking, capital markets and financial innovation.
Her career has been consistently recognized by the leading international legal directories. Chambers and Partners ranks her in Band 1 for both Capital Markets and FinTech Legal and also recognizes her in Banking and Finance. The Legal 500 names her a Leading Partner in Capital Markets, while IFLR1000 identifies her as a Notable Practitioner in Banking and Finance and Capital Markets. In addition, last June she was named Lawyer of the Year – Capital Markets by The Latin American Lawyer.
