Since 2008, we have reaffirmed our commitment to access to justice by signing the Pro-Bono Declaration for the American Continent, promoted by the Cyrus Vance Center, in whose Drafting Committee our partner Javier de Belaunde participated as the only Peruvian representative. This initiative commits us to provide free legal services (pro-bono) to people in vulnerable situations and the organizations that support them.

The selection of pro bono cases is overseen by an internal committee at Hernández & Cía., which also supervises the compliance with the number of hours of pro bono work set for all our lawyers. We are also members of the Alianza Pro-Bono Perú -associated with the Cyrus Vance Center-, an organization that promotes pro bono work in Peru and serves as a meeting point between lawyers and people in vulnerable situations and/or organizations that assist them, promoting the provision of legal services with a high standard of quality.
Through these efforts, we have provided sponsorship and advice to LGBTI+ groups, the OLI Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce of Indigenous Peoples of Peru, the San Francisco de Asis Children’s Refectory, the NGO ConJuntos, among other groups and organizations with activities of public interest. With this commitment, we aspire to contribute to making Peru a little fairer every day.
We have established an Intervention Committee against Sexual Harassment in order to represent the firm’s workers and professional staff . This Committe will be in charge of investigating any fact that may constitute an act of sexual harassment while ensuring confidentiality, impartiality, speed, and efficiency in the process.
