Gerardo is a recognized specialist in Bankruptcy law, with more than 20 years of professional experience. With his contribution, the Restructuring and Insolvency practice area will continue its growth, significantly enriching the value proposition that Hernández & Cía. offers to you, our clients.
Gerardo holds a Law degree by Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and a master’s degree (LL.M) in Law and Economics from Queen Mary University of London. Throughout his career, he has developed a strong international practice, having worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP (New York) and Galicia Abogados (Mexico).
In Peru, he was the leading partner in the insolvency practice area in firms such as Rubio Leguía Normand and BBGS Abogados, among others. He also shares the commitment to academic excellence that characterizes Hernández & Cía., being currently professor of the Financial Law course in the Master of International Law at the PUCP and of the Wealth Restructuring course at ESAN Graduate School of Business.
His career has been highlighted by Legal 500, IFLR and other specialized publications.
