With the advisory of Hernandez & Cia., Backus and its subsidiary, Backus Marcas y Patentes S.A.C. has entered into an agreement with Leche Gloria S.A., by means of which the Gloria Group will become operator of the business of production, bottling and distribution of mineral water of the brand “San Mateo”. As a result, the latter will consolidate its portfolio of non-alcoholic beverages. The acquisition of this important business in the bottled water segment will be executed through the sale of 100% of the shares of NABs S.A.C., a company part of the AB InBev Group that, prior to closing and by means of a corporate reorganization, shall receive the business “San Mateo”.
This agreement is subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions usual for this type of transactions, such as the approval by the competition authority, INDECOPI, under the merger control regulation.
