We advised Proinversión in the first PPP, under the modality of a Co-financed Private Initiative, awarded with the recent regulatory changes to the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
This project seeks to treat, with a sophisticated procedure, wastewater before reaching Lake Titicaca, to avoid contamination.
The project includes the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants in the towns of Puno, Juliaca Ilave, Ayaviri, Juli and Moho, Azángaro, Yunguyo, Huancané and Lampa in the department of Puno. With this, it is expected to reactivate the Peruvian economy, through the generation of more jobs in the area of ??influence of the project, especially in the sector of sanitation.
It is worth mentioning that several specialized companies and international consortia have competed to develop the wastewater treatment project in Lake Titicaca: Aguas de Puno Consortium (Spain); Collas Consortium (France); Aqualia (Spain); Public Works and Services Corporation, COPASA, Branch of Peru (Spain); and Consorcio Fypasa Construcciones S.A. of C.V. and Operadora de Ecosistemas S.A. of C.V. (Mexico).
